Hello There! It's Me!
My name is Alison Munnis, Ali for short, and I am 26 years old. Currently, I am taking Animation Mentor courses, but I just graduated from the Character Animation Program at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL in May of 2021. Previously, I studied traditional Painting and Drawing for 3 years at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. I have moved around a lot in my life, but this made me into an adventurous and outgoing adult!
One of the few constants in my early life was my love for cartoons and animated films. Even when I was far too young to understand the plot of whatever animated movie/TV show I was watching, I still wanted to know how those drawings could come to life. I'm always fascinated with this medium, and as I learn more my passion grows!
Though typically a very tenacious, goal-driven, organized individual, I still know how to have a good time (like sticking googly eyes on just about everything, naming my plants, solving riddles, and attending themed cocktail events)!. However, despite being a perfectionist, I see myself as a student in every aspect of my life, constantly growing and learning from every experience.
The current project that I just finished working on is a short film titled Forget Me Not - winner of the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Animated Film. On this film I was the asset manager, a storyboard artist, a character rigger, a concept artist, a layout artist, a 2D/3D animator, foley lead, a compositor, and I was also on the story team - my central focuses being anything involving story, 2D and 3D animation.
